Signing Lighting & Guarding at Roadworks C.S.C.S.
The aim of this course is to provide the knowledge and skills to be able to evaluate, plan and install a safe system of signing, lighting and guarding at roadworks in accordance with the requirements of National Guidelines.
This course is certified under the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS). Duration 3 days Certification:
Successful applicants will receive QQI certification and a CSCS certification and card.Duration: 3 days
Manual Handling
This Manual Handling Training Course offers you up to date theory and current manual procedures involved with safe manual handling.
Manual Handling Course complies with the “General Application Regulation Regulations, Manual Handling of Loads”, which maintains that any staff involved in manual handling will need training in the safe manual handling of loads.

Health and Safety at Roadworks C.S.C.S.
This programme is designed for operatives who are required to work at roadworks, in both rural and urban situations, so as to understand the risks to their own safety from passing traffic and the need to avoid creating dangers for road users.

First Aid Response

FIRST AID RESPONSEPreviously known as Occupational First Aid
The aim of this First Aid Response course is to provide learners with the knowledge and skills to provide first aid for a person who becomes suddenly unwell or injured until the arrival of emergency medical services.

Fire Safety Training
This course is for individuals who must respond to hazardous fire situations in the home, workplace or community. A fire warden is a defined workplace member responsible for sweeping their assigned floor or building and accompanying the employees and other individuals in their area to an allocated assembly point during an emergency or a fire drill per the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005. No set number of fire wardens is legally required, but an employer should carry out a fire risk assessment to determine the number their company needs. This training will give trainees the awareness of essential fire safety duties to handle fire emergencies competently.

ABRASIVE WHEELS SETTERS COURSE
1. IntroductionCourse administration, aims and objectives.
2. Legislation and GuidanceAccident causation and costs.
3. Wheel SelectionsDiscussion concerning materials (hard & soft), materials to be removed, work piece geometry, machine types, speed and feeds, wet or dry operating conditions and dressing methods.
4. Wheel StorageDiscussion concerning the effects of atmospheric working conditions, protection from shock loading, cushioning between wheels, support from bending and distortion, and shock rotation.

5. Wheel TypesDiscussion on wheel size, shape, function, and fixing methods.

6. Wheel MarkingsDiscussion on British Standards marking system, BS4481, denoting abrasive type, grain, grade or hardness and bond type.

7. Practical DemonstrationPractical sessions on the procedures to be followed when mounting abrasive wheels on to various types of machines.

To provide the participants with the required knowledge and skills to carry out the location and avoidance of underground services when involved with excavation works. – Legal & Occupational Responsibilities – Liaison with other – Risk Assessment – Planning the work – Safe Systems of Work
